For the SAT/ACT, I recommend preparing for at least 4 months before the first real test. I suggest that students plan to take their test 2-3 times, as they have the option to “superscore.”
For ISEE/SSAT/SHSAT, I recommend beginning prep no later than late August/early September. For accelerated learning or to fill content gaps, I suggest starting prep over the summer.**NOTE: Test prep is not a one-size-fits-all. Timelines may vary depending on the student’s needs.
-
On average, for SAT/ACT/SHSAT students, I recommend one 90-minute session per week.
For ISEE/SSAT students, I suggest one 75-minute session a week, although some may prefer two 60-minute sessions.
For accelerated learning or to fill content gaps, I suggest multiple weekly sessions.
